Wells of Living Water
By Lover of Words

“For all the wells which his father's servants had digged in the days of Abraham his father, the Philistines had stopped them, and filled them with earth. And Isaac digged again the wells of water, which they had digged in the days of Abraham his father; for the Philistines had stopped them after the death of Abraham: and he called their names after the names by which his father had called them. And Isaac's servants digged in the valley, and found there a well of springing water.” Genesis 26:15-19

Abraham was made, by God, “A Father Of Many Nations.” All those who believe God are Abraham's seed. Abraham had the gospel preached to him first and he then preached it to his children so they could pass it on for generations and generations. We who are of faith are the children of Abraham and we preach the gospel of reconciliation, truth, and peace.

There are people who God has called us to mentor, to teach, to father, and to fellowship with; people who have been begotten through the word of faith. These men and women are to go out and preach the Kingdom of God. The revelation behind these verses is that some men and women of God, who he meant to be wells of living water, have become filled with earth because of the deceitfulness of riches, the cares of this world, and lusts of other things entering in choking the word.

They have been filled with earthly wisdom, desires, and lusts by the enemy. In Isaac's case the enemy was the Philistines but in our case the enemy is Satan. These men and women who were once profitable to God's kingdom have forgotten their calling and have become unprofitable. They have not strayed so far that they cannot be reached but we the body of Christ need to go and encourage them and remind them who they are.

We need to dig those wells out again so that people can draw water from them. To make it plain, people need to be able to receive the word of God from them and come to the knowledge of the truth. Isaac was the son of promise and we are sons and daughters of the Most High God. Once we dig those wells out by faith, they will be called again by the names that our Father had called them. Names like: beloved of God, a royal priesthood, a peculiar people, a chosen generation, a holy nation, sons and daughters, saints, peacemakers, kings and priests, good and faithful servants, and the righteousness of Christ.

I do believe everybody need to dig those wells out by faith and btrust in God that he will be there for us. God will not give us more than what we can handle.
